The Mower Centre is located within Birchgrove Garden Centre and services and repairs hundreds of machines in South Holland every year. With over 20 years experience and Award winning Briggs and Stratton master service technicians at hand The Mower Centre is able to service machines from all major brands although due to difficulties in obtaining spares we no longer accept some of the generic chinese machines supplied through supermarkets and large DIY stores in for repair or service.
Worried your machine is too big to bring to the Mower Centre? For a small charge we can offer collection and drop back service to South Holland and Greater Peterborough including; Spalding, Holbeach, Whaplode, Moulton, Long Sutton Wisbech, Boston and beyond. Call us now to book in your machine.
Owing to the sheer volume of service & repair work brought in to us daily during the spring and summer months our workshop will usually have at least a 1-2 week wait on service work. Please enquire at the time of booking for an approximation of our current turnaround time.
All work is done strictly in date order from its day of arrival with us and we will call you once your job is complete. We would ask you to be patient during this time and not bombard us with daily phone calls asking for updates or "is it done yet?" as each call takes someone away from their current job and as we often have 60+ machines with us at any one time you can appreciate that can be a lot of extra calls daily which really disrupts progress for us.
At The Mower Centre, two of the most common questions we get asked are “how much does a service cost?” and also “what is included in the service?” so in the below guide we will run through roughly whats included and the likely costs.
Petrol Rotary Mowers - £85 inc Vat
- Check machine starting
- Check overall condition of the machine & clean
- Sharpen & balance rotary blade
- Change engine oil
- Clean or change spark plugs as required
- Check fuel system
- Check and lubricate the wheels
- Inspect wheel adjusters
- Inspect starter cord and replace if necessary
- Test run of the machine, with operation and safety check
The price of the engine oil and spark plug are included in the basic service cost.
However you may need to budget for other common parts such as replacement blades, air filters & cables etc which may be required, these parts are extra and would typically cost as follows:
Replacement Blades can be between £15 - £50 depending on size and make
Cables are usually between £12 - £30
Air filters are typically between £3 - £20
Please bear in mind that services are for working machines only. If your mower is currently broken down then it is unlikely that a simple service will resolve this problem and a more in depth analysis will likely be required incurring extra labour charges.
If there are any unusual issues with your machine currently which require specific attention please inform us at the point of booking not when collecting!!
